For Dancers who want to be a living testimony of the
transformational power of Jesus Christ!
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “How can I pursue my dance career and my passion for dance wholeheartedly, and still honor God, stand firm in my values, and be used by God for His glory?”,
then this community is for you!
As dancers, we are very passionate about our art form, and the joy and possibilities that dance brings into our lives, and the lives of those around us. But our life’s purpose is not about:
– Winning competitions
– Winning awards
– Becoming famous
– Dancing on BIG stages
– Making a TON of money
– Getting our “Big Break”
Or,
– Fitting in with the crowd
When the bible talks about what your life’s purpose is, and what your focus should be in this life it says:
“Jesus told him, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ~ Matthew 22:37-39
And that’s just the beginning! As men and women who have been saved by grace, and transformed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to spread the good news to those who need to hear it, and also to edify one another. We must lift each other up, encourage one another, pray for one another, and strengthen one another in the Lord.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the pursuit of our dreams and goals, and forget about God, except for when we want something from Him, and that’s no good. We’ve been called to DO MORE & BE MORE in this generation, and it’s time that we stepped up to the plate!
“Dancers For Christ’ is an online community/ministry for Christian dancers of all denominations, genres, ages, and levels of experience, to connect, support, share, pray, and fellowship with one another. Our passion for dance is a gift that God has given us, and we can use it as a vehicle to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We face many challenges as professional dancers, dance teachers, choreographers, and aspiring professionals because of the nature of our industry (cut-throat, competitive, self-serving, and sensual).
But we can STILL stand for Christ and for the word of God, and be a living testimony to the world, by how we carry ourselves, how we treat and communicate with others, manage difficulties, and show discernment in the type of work that we choose to do. It’s time for Christian dancers to stand up for Christ, and take our place within our industry, and stop being “undercover Christians” because we want to fit in, or because we’re worried about what other people will think.
God has created us for such a time as this, and it’s time for us to take our place in the world, and use our art form as an extension and expression of God’s love, and share the transformational power of Jesus Christ!
I wish that there was a ministry/community like this when I was younger, and pursuing my performance career full-time. I would’ve avoided so many pit falls and mistakes along the way.
We all need guidance, support, wise counsel, prayer partners, and brothers and sisters in the Lord who know what we’re going through, and can help us get through those challenging times.
