It’s Challenge Day Two!
You’re still with me! I love it! Remember, completing all five days of this challenge is crucial to your success, so don’t drop the ball!
For today’s challenge we are focusing on another key component to building an online brand that pays: Building Your Authority and Credibility Online.
I don’t want you to be just another _________ (fill in the blank). I want you to establish yourself as the expert, as the favorite, as the best, and as THE ONE that people should choose, over your competitors, or your peers.
How do you build your authority and credibility online? You do two things:
You make sure that your online profiles are always up-to-date, and reflect and highlight your level of expertise.
You post content online (through social media), that also highlights your level of expertise. You can do this through blogging, videos, your social media content, or any other method you choose.
That’s where LinkedIn comes in, and your challenge for day two.
Day Two Challenge
-
Update your LinkedIn profile, and make sure that all of your information on there is up-to-date, and really makes you shine! Add any awards or special achievements, certifications, add videos to your profile, and make sure it reflects who you are today, and the types of opportunities that you want to attract.
-
Publish an article on your LinkedIn profile that highlights your expertise in your niche market/industry. Don’t just share a link. Publish an actual article from your LinkedIn profile, that your connections will be notified of, see in the newsfeed, and that will permanently live on your profile.
Why is LinkedIn so important? Because it brings with it a world of professional opportunities for your personal brand or business. I have been featured as a social media expert on television, thanks to LinkedIn (the show’s Producer found me and contacted me through LinkedIn). I have also gotten a five-figure consulting contract through LinkedIn. It is a powerhouse, and not to be ignored!
Remember, when someone searches your name on Google, your LinkedIn profile shows up in the search results, near the top. Make sure that it highlights your expertise, is up-to-date, and makes you SHINE online! When it does, you are one step closer to building an online brand that pays.
